In 1997, I started developing work for the net. As I became so captivated by the sculptural possibilties within the browser window, I continued working solely on the net between 1999 and 2002. The locations http://www.xs4all.nl/~leegte on which I started and following http://www.leegte.org were used as direct online studio space. Interfaces changing all the time, experimental works placed on the index page, the webspace was a dynamic location of sometimes interesting and sometimes less interesting, sometimes complete and sometimes incomplete studies on 'screen sculpture and -installations'.
Since I started concentrating mainly on creating installation based work in a gallery comtext, I have placed a selection of the studies on this site. Added by still ongoing new online works.
For being the worldwide industrial standard in offices and home use, I have always chosen to work on a Windows based computer. The works presented under online studies / software should be viewed ideally on a Windows 98 OS, with Internet Explorer. As the world rapidly moves on with OS upgrades, new browsing software and ever extending coding possibilities, the works are slowly decaying. One day all I will be able to do is make screendumps and place these on the net...
But do try and view them! For you might still be lucky and see them in working condition.
